In Ontario, we have an amazing parks system that provides recreation opportunities for residents as well as protection for the environment and many animal species. It is essential that the park system be maintained!
Selling Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to the town would be a huge mistake. The Town of Wasaga Beach has historically mismanaged the main beach area and the current plans to redevelopment are no different. The Provincial Park section has always been a haven for those of us who want to avoid the huge crowds. There is shade, a place to picnic and enjoy an afternoon of nature at the beach. The town would destroy all that in the name of tourism. The province has a responsibility to ensure that over-crowding and over commercialization does not threaten our beautiful Provincial Parks!
