As an Ontario resident of Indigenous background whose family consider the Georgian Bay area as part of our traditional homeland, I am completely opposed to the proposed amendments to the Act. Ontario Provincial Parks are Crown Lands that belong in perpetuity to the people of Ontario, not subject to the whims of a government giving this invaluable heritage away for dubious commercial development. By approving this amendment, it threatens the integrity of other provincial parks in Ontario that may be subject to demands from developers to allow further development.
