I strongly object to the decision to transfer Waterfront Provincial Park to community control, which undermines its protection. Provincial parks are designated to preserve natural spaces for future generations, offering both ecological and recreational benefits. Allowing the park to be managed by local entities opens the door for development and commercialization, potentially disrupting the delicate ecosystem. Its current status ensures that the park remains a safe haven for wildlife and a place of tranquility for visitors. This decision risks sacrificing long-term environmental integrity for short-term gain. We must prioritize sustainability and conservation over local interests to maintain the park's natural beauty for all to enjoy.
