I disagree with this…

I disagree with this proposal. The following should be addressed in detail before any legislative or regulatory action is taken.

This proposal does not address my concerns about how the public of Ontario will be compensated for the loss of publicly owned lands. Wasaga beach is a well used site open to the public. The public benefits from it being open and accessible to all, for free. This proposal appears to threaten public ownership of the beach and does not provide any indication that public access has been considered. Clear and decisive guarantees of continued public access would alleviate this (e.g. 95% or more of what is currently publicly accessible beach would remain accessible).

This proposal fails to address my concerns about the destruction of Ontario’s natural resources. No assessment of potential environmental impacts nor plan to address them is presented. The link below indicates that development on this site threatens at least one endangered species. This impact should be assessed and presented to the public in detail before any changes to the park’s status is made.
