I am writing to express my strong opposition to the proposed legislative amendments which would remove portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park from the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act, 2006.
Provincial parks are invaluable public assets, designated for the enjoyment and benefit of all citizens, and crucial for preserving our natural and cultural heritage. Dismantling these protected areas for local development sets a dangerous precedent, eroding public access and environmental safeguards. We must prioritize the long-term protection of these shared spaces over short-sighted economic gains.
