I strongly oppose transferring a portion of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to the Town to allow for increased tourism development. Provincial Parks are supposed to be for public enjoyment and environmental protection. If Wasaga is the longest freshwater beach in the world, than it is critiically important that it remain within the protection of a provincial park for these dual purposes.
These lands contain endanged species habitat and rare dune vegetation in addition to being a publicly accessible beach. Wasaga does not need more beach development.
