The proposal is clearly driven by private interests - commercial and individual. At a time when more provincial park and crown land within a 2-3 hour drive radius from major population centres in southern Ontario will be enjoyed by more people, it makes no sense from that perspective to "privatize" half the land currently available at Wasaga.
Any effort to move forward with this proposal should include a full disclosure of the proponents, their respective plans and the ensuing financial benefits, so that all residents of southern Ontario can have a voice on the transfer of these lands to private interests.
