As Ontario's population grows, there is a need for MORE PARK land, not less. There is plenty of opportunity for tourism development in nearby areas that are already developed. This proposal area includes rare dune habitat for threatened species and will need more protection and preservation in the future, not less.
Tourism in natural and park areas relies on having a healthy and intact environment and ecosystem. Shrinking protected areas for economic development will ultimately result in a poorer and less attractive environment for humans, in addition to wildlife. Provincial Parks belong to the residents on Ontario and we want to see them protected for future generations.
Protect the current park areas and keep the economic development to areas that will not weaken the natural environment.
