It is critical that Ontario's conservation land be protected and expanded. Removing lands desirable to private businesses from the protection afforded by being a Provincial Park sets a dangerous precedent that could be used to justify encroaching on other protected lands throughout the province.
It is particularly important that land in southern Ontario be protected, as the area is so densely populated, and environmental destruction as a result of agriculture is so significant there.
We should not be shrinking provincial parks, but growing them significantly to expand conservation efforts, as well as ensuring that Ontario's natural beauty is available for all to access, not just by those who can afford expensive vacations to touristy towns.
