This proposal needs to be…

This proposal needs to be denied. Wasaga beach as it already is, is a Canadian treasure, and you want to work to actively destroy it. Outrageous. As the world’s longest freshwater beach and Ontario’s number one visited provincial park, there is no doubt that the existing tourism pull for Wasaga beach and it’s surrounding community is already vast and well established. You cannot improve what’s already great, and certainly not by blatantly ruining what actually makes it great. It is so clear that this is a move motivated by greed alone and it is disgusting. Absolutely shameful. You would be doing a disservice to the community that you claim this would benefit. These aren’t sellable lands, let alone to developers who will likely make this a resort or something else commercial. Recognize the people who actually live there, what they really want their government to do, and the people who already love and bring their business to these areas. Beach 1 and 2 specifically are the spots my family regularly visits, and I can guarantee if they were to change hands and become a product of a developer, we would not be visiting and certainly not be giving our business as tourists, which is what these proposed changes are trying to boost. I fear you plan is massively flawed and misaligned with the public for these reasons. You cannot do irrevocable damage and expect the area to benefit. You need to nurture the tourism that is already there. Maintain endangered species and wildlife habitats. Listen to what people actually want for their parks and from their government. They are our parks. This should never even be a discussion. They should never be for sale. This isn’t fair, and it isn’t right. It’s disgusting. Ontario is watching, make the right decision.
