This seems like a terrible idea, akin to the destruction of Ontario Place. Surely the Government of Ontario's mandate should be to preserve these wonderful places and ensure they can be enjoyed by all Ontarians. Handing over these treasures to developers is an irrevocable measure. Once they're gone, they're gone forever, accessible only to those that can afford to pay to visit. Economic benefits would surely be realized, but only by the business folk complicit in this monumental loss to the general public.
Please reconsider this action. It is a direct transfer of wealth from the have-nots to the haves, further lining their pockets. If past history is any indication, it will surely reek of cronyism and backroom deals, obscured by a by a now familiar total lack of transparency.
I beg you not to do it. The people deserve better!
