I am writing to ask that you withdraw this proposal to sell off public land for private land.

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park was created to protect species within its boundaries. Opening it to private operators will leave the species that were once protected vulnerable.

One such is the Piping Plover. These shorebirds depend on the sand beaches to raise their young. With privatization mechanical raking will be much more likely thus destroying their habitat and nests. There must be protections built into the legislative proposals such as no alteration to the dune habitats and nest protection strategies areas such as fenced areas.

I would also like to see experts engaged and consulted such as Birds Canada and Ontario Nature.
