Please allow for the development of Wasaga Beach without selling off the land that is currently part of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. For decades, developers have been coming up with plans to redevelop the main strip and bring it back to its former glory without success. They do not need more land to make this happen. They need good planning and reputable builders. The private commercialized main strip can exist in harmony with the protected park lands, including the Piping Plover habitat and the area around the mouth of the river.
Wasaga Beach is the most productive and valuable Piping Plover nesting habitat in the province, and one of few accessible and reliable sites for people to see the illusive birds in Ontario.
I think that people travel around the world to places like Wasaga Beach to experience its natural wonders. Nature is a destination. Please don't ruin it.
