Wasaga beach is known as a place where many migratory birds nest, including the endangered Piping Plover. Habitat has already been SO diminished for these species who rely on the most southern shores of Canada (Wasaga Beach, Point Pelee, Long Point) as key mating and nesting habitats. Fragmenting this habitat even further will put these birds at further risk. Biodiversity decline, aka species extinction, affects ALL of us. From the pollinators that pollinate our food, to the bottom feeders that clean our waters. This isn't just about a bird. It's about the future for our children, a future where species are not going extinct due to human greed.
