Please please please don't turn over the beaches at Wasaga to the town. The park does a fantastic job of managing them. The town of Wasaga is growing at an astonishing rate and the last thing we need is to have more beachfront development.
The endangered piping plovers breed at this site and the park manages to strike a balance between tourism and protecting them that I am not sure the town will respect. It is the most productive beach in the province for producing piping plovers, it is readily accessible so that people can visit and learn about these amazing and adorable birds.
Is this the legacy this government wants - the extinction of this species in our province? Please reconsider and listen.
