I am extremely opposed to the proposed amendments to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act. Ontario parks and conservation reserves are protected because they have been identified as important ecological and recreational areas. What is the point of protecting land if the government can just remove the protections whenever its not convenient for them? This is exactly why we need to respect these Acts; the provincial government will lose even more of the trust of Ontarians if they show they can do whatever they want to legislation when they see fit. This is a very Trump move of the Ontario government. We all know this is only being done to benefit rich developers, and is not in the the best interest of the vast majority of Ontarians.

Wasaga Beach is critical habitat for the Endandered piping plover. The province and NGOs have been working hard, with much success, to protect these migratory shorebirds and their habitat. People of Ontario have the right to continue enjoy wildlife in their natural habitats and learn about them. Removing sections of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park will further endanger this species, as well as many others who depend on sensitive dune ecosystems.

I beg you to not make this terrible mistake. Keep land in Provincial Parks protected for all Ontarians to enjoy, not just for the handful of rich people who want to get richer.
