I am writing to express my strong opposition to any plans to reduce, sell, or otherwise alter Ontario’s provincial parks. These parks are an essential part of what makes our province, and Canada as a whole, unique and worth visiting. They are not simply parcels of land; they are vital natural spaces that protect biodiversity, provide public access to nature, and preserve our shared heritage for future generations.
Turning these public assets over to developers would not only diminish our environmental legacy but would also reduce access to waterfront areas for Ontarians who cannot afford private ownership. This would deepen inequality and limit opportunities for people to connect with nature, a right that should be accessible to all, not just the privileged few.
Provincial parks belong to the people of Ontario. They must be protected, enhanced, and kept in public hands. I urge you to reject any proposals that would compromise their integrity.
