This deeply angers me. At what point are we going to stop sacrificing the natural integrity of the environment, upon which tourism is based? I have witnessed for decades the natural restoration of the said beaches with native dune grasses and vegetation. Areas fenced off to ensure successful vegetative growth, habitat restoration and the protection of endangered species. The Piping Plover is federally and provincially listed as an endangered species! These proposed amendments are an ecological disaster. How short-sighted and unsustainable. Visitors come to Wasaga Beach to enjoy the beach, clean water and natural surroundings. Provincial Parks protect the natural environment and provide recreation for visitors. They should not be sacrificed for the benefit of developers. Crown land should be retained by the people. Too much development, too quickly, without a sustainable vision to preserve the natural integrity of Wasaga Beach. Shameful.
