Please do not cut down Wasaga Beach's land by so much! This will have negative impacts on surrounding wildlife including the endangered Piping Plover birds, and will likely reduce tourism to the area- Wasaga beach should be protected and removed just to turn a profit. Please protect the wildlife, and do not dispose of this park space!
Executive director of Environmental Defence Tim Gray stated that "changes to the beach and the way it's maintained now could have devastating consequences". Laura Bowman, an environmental lawyer commented that "these are important pieces of land for conservation and biodiversity and important recreation areas for the people of Ontario.". The voices of these experts echo the sentiments of residents all across Ontario, including myself, a university student in Toronto. Please protect Ontario's wildlife, don't tear it down.
