I’m writing to share my opinion that Beaches 1, 2, New Wasaga, and Allenwood Beach should all remain parkland and not be transferred to the town of Wasaga Beach. These should remain with the Ontario Public, and the Piping Plovers should be protected by professionals at Ontario Parks rather than something to be determined by the town of Wasaga Beach. The lack of proper public consultation and due process sets a dangerous precedent for the protection of other parkland, which should be a legacy for future generations. As a 20 year old growing up in Ontario, this motion causes deep concern for the future of our province - both for people and our natural ecosystems. Let's make sure Ontario remains "a place to grow" - and not only economically.
