I wholeheartedly do not support the proposed amendments to the PPCRA outlined in this proposal. The area proposed for redevelopment is currently protected by the Ontario Parks, and the solution is not to give control to the town. They maintain the ecosystem of this area, monitor and mitigate threats to the Piping Plover species and their habitat year-round. Funding should be committed to protecting this fragile species. Experts like Birds Canada and Ontario Parks are already protecting this space, and this proposal would destroy many years’ worth of work.
