Adding rock climbing as an approved activity would be an asset to the climbing community, Ontario Parks and the local community. Climbing is world class at Devils Glen. Making climbing an accepted activity would show that Ontario Parks is progressive and recognizes that activities that have had to remain secretive are indeed valid and beneficial sports. Approval would also provide greater support from the climbing community in addressing any environmental issues on an official level with respect and cooperation. I’ve climbed for 35 years around the world and 30 of them has been at Devils Glen. It has been a park that has been protected by climbers for all those years because climbers are excellent stewards for the places they climb at. Thank you for your consideration..
