Over the past 20 years under Liberal and Conservative governments, Ontario made great progress on protecting endangered species and thereby enriching natural areas and life in Ontario. Undoing this and specifically ceasing to recognize 106 different species at risk, ranging from the Eastern Mole, Eastern Musk Turtle and Cougars, to the endangered Red Side Dace and Red-Headed Woodpecker, will have dire consequences. These may not be evident today, but in 10 to 20 years will mean impoverishment in our lives, further deterioration of our environment, and the infrastructure nature provides essentially for free. Please not only retain all protections of endangered species but expand them.
