I strongly oppose Bill 5. If this government cares about saving our world given the impacts of the climate crisis, a real focus on maintaining ALL environmental rules and regulations MUST be held. Bill 5 represents short-term gain (for only a few) and long term deep pain. This particular amendment drops the recognition of 106 species at risk. This is not acceptable. The environment is an ecosystem that needs all of it's parts to function fully and that includes all of the turtles and birds and fish etc. We need homes, yes, but we need small and affordable homes, not the monster homes that this government seems to be building. Apartments and small homes are best built within cities and towns. We must keep our farmland, and especially the Greenbelt, all of it!!
