Capitalism will never contribute to the lessening of climate change nor environmental degradation. Therefore it is the role of government to advocate for the planet and make decisions based on the protection of the planet, our local ecosystems, our air, water, land etc. Make decisions that will meet the long term needs of future Ontarians not the short term needs of corporations and shareholders. Equality in all aspects of life, social equality, gender, educational, environmental equality has proven to improve the lives for everyone. Do no remove animal protections so that corporate greed can profit from the planet. Removing protected species legislation is a short sighted manoeuvre in order to exploit even more such as the Greenbelt. The majority of people do not want this. You work for the people.
