This bill seems to be prioritizing the desire to make money off "developing" land rather than protecting it. Humans are part of Nature and it's our responsibility to protect it. That includes all the animals, plants, and other species that inhabit it. Rather than deconstructing environmental protections and regulations, Ontario (and the world as a whole) needs to focus on strengthening its environmental stewardship. Value in land goes far beyond the idea of "development," the idea that land only has value if it can make people richer. The land is already rich and it's not our place to decide which species gets to survive and which don't simply because people in power want to become wealthier. This doesn't just affect the wellbeing of the plants, animals, and fungi that inhabit this land, but all the people who value and use it as it is and appreciates it for its beauty and gifts.
