The proposed regulations would delist over 100 species from the provincial Species at Risk in Ontario list, including some Endangered species.
If implemented, dozens of at-risk species that live in the Kawarthas like the Red-headed Woodpecker, Northern Map Turtle, Five-lined Skink, Monarch butterfly, and Canada Warbler, will not benefit from the conservation efforts necessary to preserve their populations and biodiversity in our region.
Please ensure that all at-risk species will be protected under Ontario legislation.
