I do not agree with the removal of the 42 aquatic or migratory species which are covered under the federal Species at Risk Act! This is nothing more than a opportunity to repeal protections. I also do not agree with the term "We are also proposing to allow persons to seek the cancellation of certain permits, agreements, and registrations and proceed under a new registration or permit under the SCA in certain circumstances.". This is highlighting the fact that the new SCA will lessen protections for important species at risk, and that developers can skirt the ESA by simply reapplying.
Regulations should be getting stronger in the face of habitat destruction and climate change; instead, we are going backwards.
