I would like to formally note my opposition to the legislative changes focused on severely limiting municipalities in planning their own active transportation plans. This legislative is limiting the ability of municipalities to create more livable, affordable and pleasant spaces for residents. In addition, the fixation on car-centric infrastructure is irresponsible, unsustainable and far too costly for Ontario to bear. This policy position will limit the economic prosperity of Ontario’s small businesses, force property taxes to support unsustainable infrastructure and needs to be reconsidered.
