This proposal takes away the power of local municipalities to make decisions about what is best for their city, and, it also falsely assumes that bike lanes cause gridlock.
As motor vehicles cause air pollution, giving them priority and making it more difficult and more dangerous for bikes, will not decrease pollution. Prioritizing cars will prevent cities from developing more climate friendly and public health friendly options, both now and in the future.
Last of all, this bill doesn't take into take account the fact how communities use roads: like for transit, safe crossings, school streets, and even patios.
