Bill 60 will increase traffic congestion rather than reducing it, and will increase accidents of all kinds involving vulnerable road users. This bill is so broad that it will not allow municipalities the authority and autonomy they deserve to implement what is best for their residents.
Evidence-based transportation planning, and really any transportation planning that is capable of getting people out of a single-occupant vehicle and instead getting them where they need to go via literally any other viable method of transportation helps make the roads safer for all users.
This bill directly impacts my City's ability to ensure that I have safe infrastructure when biking to get to work, the grocery store, etc. I live within 5km of almost everything I need and, most days, have no need to get in a car. Please help keep me and other road users safe. Scrap this bill.
