I am a daily bicycle commuter from the West end of the city of Toronto to Downtown.
I grew up in Toronto and have always used my bike as my main mode of transportation. It is more reliable than the subway, faster than driving a car in the city, better for the environment and for me.
I have seen the amount of traffic increase over the years in the city and the addition of bike lanes have made it safer for me and others. Also they have improved the car traffic flow along Bloor Street in particular. This has been proven by the government of Ontario's own research and yet the Premier still feels the need to try and quash the use of bike lanes. It is both irrisponsible and backward moving.
Please take this as my plea to not allow this bill 60 to hinder any city in the province from making choices for its own community.
