Bike lanes save lives. There is very little evidence that removing bike lanes will improve car traffic in the long run. As our city grows, we will always reach a kind of maximum homeostasis with regard to traffic congestion. Even if you are able to improve traffic flow today, in a couple years it will be back to the way it was.
We have 3d cities on 2d roads - it's a simple math problem. You need to invest in alternate forms of transportation. Subways, dedicated traffic light streetcars, light rail, and incentivize biking by having a robust and safe bike lane network.
If you take away bike lanes you are just adding that many more car drivers to the roads. Let's use common sense and evidence to make our decisions, not emotions.
Strongly against this bill and everything it stands for.
