Bill 60 does so many things wrong it makes my head spin, but fundamentally 2 thigns really stand out.
Housing is already becoming unaffordable and difficult to obtain in Ontario and making it easier to evict renters is just morally corrupt. We need more rent to income housing and other projects not new rules to make it easier to evict. If you want to help landlords - fix the LTB.
Second and more importantly - why is the province taking more and more control away from local municipalities?! This is another one of Doug Ford's government overreaches. Local government needs to ahve the ability to do what's best for their citizens and Doug seems to be 100% against this. I'm sorry, but the needs of downtown Torontians do not match the needs of suburban sprawl and vice versa. His war on bikes, pedestrians, etc. goes against science, analytics, urban planners and frankly plain old logic. I know Doug loves to believe he knows better than the experts, but he doesn't. Bill 60 is another dangerous use of government overreach. I and the people I know agree on this. I am strongly opposed to this bill.
