How can the proposal to exclude the provision of safe cycling infrastructure from existing roadways, particularly in cities, as is buried in the deceit of the omnibus Bill 60 be taken seriously when the provision of alternate means of mobility is crucial in meeting the Province’s carbon emission reduction targets? I’m left to believe that the current provincial government has no interest in meeting these important targets in an effort to mitigate global warming / climate change / extreme weather events. I’m left to believe that Premier Doug Ford believes that the way he can maintain political power is to ignore all the difficult issues of the day, particularly as they manifest themselves in urban settings, by reassuring his suburban and rural constituents that he will maintain the status quo at all costs. More roads. More cars. More roads. More cars. Stop Bill 60!
