I have lived in the GTA for about 15 years, and greatly value the Greenbelt while also seeing a need to allow for growth. I believe that future growth will be primarily in the form of densification than new suburbs. The latter are already struggling to provide timely commutes to workplaces due to the sheer size and lack of transportation infrastructure with the GTA. Thus, I would urge the government to do everything possible to maintain the integrity of the Greenbelt while facilitating densification south of it, and allowing for communities north of the Greenbelt to grow naturally in response to demand.
