During the election it was promised that the Green Belt would stay intact. This sounds an awful lot like selling off the Green Belt to housing developers...
I am in favour of increasing density and public transportation to meet the housing needs, but the last thing we need is more urban sprawl and damage to critical eco systems. As someone who relies on ground water coming from the Green Belt, I have serious concerns about this land being opened to development.
If you stop pretending like damage to the environment doesn't cost us anything, you will be able to find much more sustainable ways to maintain growth.
