Bill 66 cannot be implemented. The green belt must be protected. If developers are able to build without taking necessary environmental risk assessments, water will be polluted, habitats will be destroyed and resources will be extracted until all we have left are wastelands. Do you want to have even more cases of the Walkerton water crisis? Where hundreds of people die because of toxic waters as a result of companies dumping waste into watersheds. Communities, cities and families all depend on the greenbelt, and the destruction of it for industrial development will be more harmful than good. Each year we lose more and more natural resources; we need to start thinking for the environment and future generations. Farmers will go out of business once their water resources become polluted and the biodiversity throughout the greenbelt is destroyed. They will be forced out of business. And all for what? Profit for a few companies while communities lose everything? Stop this bill!
