Heritage buildings and cultural landscapes are valuable resources which should not be made more vulnerable than they already are. Bill 66 will take away protections such as heritage impact assessments and other measures which ensure that heritage properties and landscapes are considered in planning decisions. Official Plans and provincial policies are in effect for good reasons and represent the consensus of the communities to which they belong. They should not be hijacked by Bill 66. Neither should the status of our Greenbelt. Bill 66 would allow municipalities to build in the Greenbelt, contrary to Mr. Ford's campaign promise. Perhaps there is some good reason for RED TAPE!
