Should Ontario harmonize with the federal reporting requirements under the Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program (GHGRP) (e.g., mandatory methods, Global Warming)?
- No. Ontario should continue to track and monitor this data independently. Using federal data does not guarantee that the data will be correctly reported or interpreted correctly. Ontario should remain in control of this information and be a leader in environmental and climate change policy. This move will hinder efforts at stopping climate change.
Should Ontario continue to require reporting of fuel distribution/supply reporting?
- Yes. Absolutely
Should third party verification of emissions requirement be maintained for the voluntary participants as defined in O. Reg. 390/18?
- Third party verification should be required for all participants. Industry does not regulate itself. It is the task of the government to ensure industry protects the people and environment above their profitability.
