This is all well and good but it is imperative to focus on subsidizing and developing other means of transport instead of trying to marginally increase the renewable content of gasoline. Not to mention ethanol in North America is largely coming from industrial monoculture corn farms which are killing our soil's fertility and taking away from healthier land uses.
How about instead of doing this our government invest heavily in public transport, electrifying that transit as well as our industrial sector's transport trucks, bring back rebates and incentives for electric vehicles, and aggressively pursue renewable energy sources.
We cannot continue to rely on fossil fuels and band-aid solutions like this, the entire structure of our transportation must change.
