I am strongly opposed to the government's proposed amendment plan to allow for future development within the Greenbelt protected area. This simply allows developers to hide behind this proposal to disrupt small communities simply to make money and then leave the area without suitable infrastructure to support their development plans. The developers create sprawl in the name of progress which destroys the nature and fabric of small villages such as Belfountain, Alton, Tottenham.
We are the custodians of the land, its fabric and its beauty for others to enjoy in years to come, not to allow it to be destroyed by urban sprawl.
