We have owned several properties around Georgian Bay area in the proximity of highly altered farm lands. Drainage of farm fields that did not meet the requirements of "sufficient outlet" caused some spillway and minor ponding issues. The NVCA claimed jurisdiction calling the properties "elevated wetlands" and withheld consent for severences of lots merged on title and subsequently building permit application. This far exceeds their original intent and scope. They have also made it clear that if the municipality approves anyway that they will face further future difficulty.
