It is rather shameful that this government proposing to return clock and benefit developers, who in past two decades did nothing but to make Toronto disorganised, congested and ugly city.
Instead of encouraging strong urban planning departments, which will make decisions based on established urban planning guidelines and with regard to design and history, this government is putting profits of their developer friends first, while roads, transit and other infrastructure are total disaster.
Instead of having moral integrity to remove any traces of OMB, which was nothing but unelected rubber-stamping body for developers, it has chosen to placate interests of big money with total disregard for anyone else.
Any attempt to re-introduce "de novo" style of hearings will enable big money to by-pass any decision made by city planning department or any community effort to have any chance of favorable outcome.
It looks that this government is confusing wild west with being open to business.
