Governments make difficult choices every day. This choice involves the life or death of not one single animal, but a herd. An endangered herd.
I urge the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry to choose to protect caribou, and any endangered species, by choosing to allow the Endandered Species Act to stand as it is now, and as it was designed- to choose to protect threatened wildlife.
An endangered species should not be threatened for commercial interests.
The Act was created as acknowledgement of the responsibility of governments and humans to protect creatures who cannot protect themselves.
Please choose to respect the intention of the Act to protect endangered animals.
Please choose to honour the Ministry's responsibility to protect this caribou herd , a species clearly at risk.
