I strongly oppose this changes. Despite being myself an avid hunter, including bear hunting, I know very well that bear hunters are among biggest forest contaminators. Every spring they bring into the woods metal and plastic drums, buckets and other packaging plastic material. All these items are left on the site after hunt is over and it’s repeated every year. All this garbage is spread out across the land by bears, raccoons, by water streams, wind, etc
If this proposal will be implemented than even more garbage will be brought to the nature, as it will be easier to bring it in. Right now not everybody is willing to bring all this balky stuff deep to the wood, but if it will be only 30 meters from a road (meaning: from vehicle) then pollution will be increased.
Instead of this proposal I would ask for another one: the requirement that all unnatural item should be removed and hunting site to be clean after hunt is over. That requirement should be implemented in Ontario Hunting Regulation as soon as possible.
