Dear Sir/Madam,
I vehemently object to this proposal to reduce the minimum distance requirement for placement of bait from rights of way and trails for black bear hunting..... the wild lands in Ontario are recreated by many who prefer not to hunt, or attract innocent animals in order to cause damage or death. The bears are not dangerous animals if you respect their needs; however, hiking, and recreating near where bear hunting happens is very dangerous. Ontario should not ever allow this change.
Furthermore, in my opinion bait 'hunting' is not hunting but is simply a form of shooting to kill innocent animals that have been lured to their death.... it is disgusting that the province of Ontario approves of such inhumane way to kill an animal.... Let us respect these animals and their right to live a free and wild life out of harms way of the constant fear of death from people who wish to lure and shoot them. This is a disgrace to humankind.
