I feel strongly that we cannot leave the forest industry to do as it likes without regulations in place to protect the woodland caribou habitat. The caribou are an endangered species and I'm sure there is room for maintaining habitat and feeding the diminishing demand on wood. The caribou as I understand it are not a threat to the forest industry. We should stop putting big business and short term interests ahead of ecologically sound decisions that will benefit for years to come in even more ways that we can now imagine.
