Ground water is a precious resource. It must be made available for communities and cities to provide an adequate supply of safe drinking water to its residents. I understand there is a need for bottled water (e.g. Northern communities that lack potable water, cottage/home owners lacking water or a potable water source); however, we do not need to feed the need of the many corporations looking to make a profit off of our precious resource. Climate change will inevitably affect access to safe water. The reality that our oil infrastructure is aging and may fail contaminating both surface and ground water is something that has to be considered. Access to ground water must be must be protected. Extending the moratorium is critical for public health.
