Please continue this moratorium for 2 reasons. First, to get a full some understanding of the impact of this activity. It takes time to properly assess the impact and we need as much due diligence to ensure we aren’t creating a host of other issues.

Second, corporations are profiting in the billions off a natural resource that belongs to us, the citizens of this province and country. We ought not allow corporations to dictate policy because they are primarily concerned with increasing value for stakeholders, not necessarily the needs of the cities and towns where they extract these resources.

I recommend you also watch the Rotten episode on Netflix regarding the issue of bottled water. There is also an environmental impact with allowing as much plastic as we do, and any strategy should be mindful of that as well.
